However, a recent report suggested that Elkann has been considering Christian Horner, former Red Bull boss, to replace him next year.\n\nHorner could return to F1 in the spring of 2026, after reaching an agreement with his former team.\n\nThe report emerged at a time when Ferrari is approaching the end of a season without victories in grand prix.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a1.espncdn.com\/combiner\/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2025%2F0625%2Fr1511056_1296x729_16%2D9.jpg\" alt=\"John Elkann y Fred Vasseur\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\nThe star driver Lewis Hamilton commented that the news about Horner was &#8220;distracting.&#8221; When asked if it would be a good idea for Ferrari to sign the Englishman, he replied: &#8220;No, and I&#8217;m not going to fuel those rumors.&#8221;\n\nThe team has emphasized in the preparation for this weekend&#8217;s United States Grand Prix that there is no basis to the report.\n\nElkann, speaking at the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) in Washington D.C. on Saturday, tried to distance himself further from the rumors about Horner.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>I want to express our full confidence in our team principal, Fred Vasseur, and in the work he is doing together with all our colleagues at Scuderia Ferrari, the mechanics, engineers and drivers competing this weekend in Austin.<\/p>\n<cite>John Elkann<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nElkann also reaffirmed the importance of teamwork to maintain focus on the only goal that matters: always giving your best on the track.\n\nFerrari hasn&#8217;t won an F1 championship of any kind since the constructors&#8217; in 2008.
