UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a significant legal victory. A Florida judge awarded him a default judgment of over $5 million in his lawsuit against the online platform Fanmio.<\/p>\n
Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal’s request, after an arbitrator awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest, related to his 2024 boxing match against Nate Diaz.<\/p>\n
Masvidal sued Fanmio in January, alleging that his agreement for the fight with Diaz included a $6 million purse, plus an additional $1 million if he won. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed to have received only a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment.<\/p>\n
The referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with final approval, the matter has been resolved.<\/p>\n
However, Fanmio still faces lawsuits from other fighters.<\/p>\n
Nate Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio two weeks after Masvidal’s case, claiming that he was owed more than $9 million. An arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million, along with attorney’s fees. That case is still awaiting final approval.<\/p>\n
