A Florida judge awarded Masvidal a default judgment for over $5 million in his lawsuit against the online platform Fanmio.\n\nThe company Fanmio was the promoter of the Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz boxing match in 2024.\n\nJudge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal&#8217;s request to grant the sentence after an arbitrator awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest, related to the fight.\n\nMasvidal sued Fanmio in January, alleging that his agreement for the fight with Diaz included a $6 million purse, plus an additional million if he won. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed to have received only a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment.\n\nThe referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with final approval, the matter is resolved.\n\nHowever, Fanmio still faces lawsuits from other fighters.\n\nNate Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio two weeks after Masvidal&#8217;s, claiming over 9 million dollars. An arbitrator awarded Diaz 6 million dollars, in addition to attorney&#8217;s fees.
