He is expected to have a significant role on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.\n\nIn his first public statements since rejoining the team, Rice revealed that during his suspension he focused on intense training in Florida and Texas. He conducted individual training sessions focused on improving his routes, strength, physical condition, and speed.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>\u201cI tried to stay in shape, as if I were in St. Joseph, Missouri. I trained Monday through Friday and did some kind of workout on Sunday to prepare my mind to be active on a game day,\u201d Rice stated.<\/p>\n\n<cite>Rashee Rice<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nIn July, Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation for his involvement in a multiple-vehicle car accident in Dallas. The player pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree felonies.\n\nCoach Andy Reid, after observing Rice in three practices, was optimistic about his quick recovery. He highlighted his good physical condition and his performance in training.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>\u201cHe looked good. It&#8217;s not a game, but what we asked him to do, he did well. You can tell he&#8217;s in good shape. You always worry when someone misses a few weeks because it&#8217;s different when you&#8217;re playing. But he worked hard, so now it&#8217;s just a matter of getting into a game and getting reps. We&#8217;ll see how all that goes,\u201d Reid commented.<\/p>\n\n<cite>Andy Reid<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nIn his rookie season in 2023, Rice led the Chiefs&#8217; receivers with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
