During a power play in the first period, Jack Quinn fired a powerful shot from the area that, although initially missed the target, rebounded off the glass and ended up going into the goal, hitting the back of the goalie Leevi Merilainen.<\/p>\n
Tim Stutzle tied the score for Ottawa in the same period.<\/p>\n
The Sabres have suffered defeats in their first three games of the season, with a combined score of 10-2. They fell 4-0 at home to the New York Rangers and 3-1 both in Boston and at their own stadium against Colorado.
