This will be his first fight under Matchroom promotion, after starting his professional career with Boxxer, UK-based promoters, in 2022.\n\nHearn commented that the English boxer, 1.90 meters tall and with a large social media following (3.5 million), was very close to joining Matchroom in 2022.\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>People don&#8217;t know that we agreed a deal with Ben Whittaker when he turned professional.<\/p><cite>Eddie Hearn<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nHearn added:\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We prepared a great promotional session with him and filmed everything, while we were finalizing the last details of the contract. Then Boxxer arrived with a large amount of money and outbid us at the last moment, after we had already filmed the promotion. I had never seen anything like that.<\/p><cite>Eddie Hearn<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nHearn expressed his enthusiasm for Whittaker&#8217;s incorporation:\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>He&#8217;s a phenomenal signing for us. For two or three years we had to watch how his career continued. I&#8217;ve seen his number of followers and even my children, when I told them we had signed him, knew everything about him.<\/p><cite>Eddie Hearn<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nHearn trusts in Whittaker&#8217;s potential:\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It&#8217;s better than people think, he just needs to believe in himself and be active.
