He inspired many boxers like us. He will be remembered as one of the greatest in Great Britain. He was very cheerful, funny and very respected. He was always the people&#8217;s champion.<\/p><cite>Amir Khan<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nAmir Khan, former world champion in two categories, highlighted Hatton&#8217;s influence on his career and his legacy in British boxing.\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a3.espncdn.com\/combiner\/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2025%2F1010%2Fr1558323_1296x729_16%2D9.jpg\" alt=\"Amir Khan presente en el servicio en Manchester.\" title=\"\"><figcaption>Amir Khan presente en el servicio en Manchester.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\nAmong the attendees were Tyson Fury and Frank Bruno, both former heavyweight world champions, and Barry McGuigan, former featherweight world champion.\nMcGuigan recalled Hatton&#8217;s career, from his beginnings as a promising amateur to becoming a world champion, and how he led thousands of fans in epic battles in Las Vegas against figures like Floyd Mayweather and Jos\u00e9 Luis Castillo.\nIn reference to the large influx of fans, many dressed in the light blue of Manchester City, Hatton&#8217;s favorite team, McGuigan commented:\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It&#8217;s incredible, but it doesn&#8217;t surprise me because he was a star, an exceptional human being. I am here with my two children because he demands the respect that a boxing hero demands. He is an amazing guy and was a phenomenal boxer, simply incredible.
