This year, he achieved knockouts over Tim Tszyu and Chordale Booker, and the fight against Thurman represented a high-profile title defense for &#8220;The Towering Inferno&#8221;.\n\nThurman, with a record of 36-1 and 23 KOs, aspired to conquer gold in the super welterweight division for the second time. In March, Thurman was forced to withdraw from a WBC title fight against Tszyu due to an injury, being replaced by Fundora, who ultimately won the title.
