The sanction, which began on September 20, 2024, will extend until March 20, 2026.\n\nThis period of ineligibility comes after several failures related to McGregor&#8217;s availability for testing. The Irish fighter failed to meet the location requirements on three occasions, resulting in the suspension.\n\nAccording to the CSAD statement, McGregor failed to provide accurate information about his whereabouts, preventing the performance of doping tests on the specified dates.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>McGregor failed three attempts to collect biological samples within a 12-month period in 2024, which constitutes a violation of the UFC&#8217;s anti-doping program.<\/p><cite>CSAD Statement<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe failed tests occurred on June 13, September 19, and September 20, 2024. The first coinciding with the announcement of the cancellation of his scheduled fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303.\n\nDespite the failures, CSAD acknowledged that McGregor was recovering from an injury and was not in preparation for a fight during the failed tests.
