Jones, who led the Chiefs’ defensive line with 48 plays, watched the sequence from the center of the field and did not make a significant effort to chase and tackle Lawrence.\n\n

\u201cIt’s a teaching point for me, a little bit of adversity. I can’t think the play is over. It’s a learning lesson. I thought it was over. I thought we had him down, so I stopped and was about to celebrate. Then I realized he wasn’t down.\u201d<\/p>Chris Jones<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nJones assured that he will improve in the future and that such an incident “will not happen again”.\n\nHe also clarified that he deactivated his X and Instagram accounts before Monday’s match, contrary to what many fans thought after the defeat.\n\n

\u201cI posted a Drake quote, \u2018I\u2019ll see you in the summer of 2026\u2019,\u201d Jones said. \u201cI never run from constructive criticism. I\u2019ve never been that guy. I\u2019ve always addressed it head-on, really. There\u2019s a lot you can take from criticism. It\u2019s like fuel, like gasoline, for me personally.\u201d<\/p>Chris Jones<\/cite>\n\nJones explained that the deactivation of his social media occurred days before the meeting.\n\nThe Chiefs’ next challenge is another prime-time matchup, this time on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions. Jones is aware that he will need an elite performance for the Chiefs’ defense to stop the NFL’s highest-scoring offense, led by quarterback Jared Goff and running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.\n\n
