A formal criminal complaint is expected to be filed this week.\n\nThe incident took place at a KnokX event in Los Angeles. Jackson, who was scheduled to appear in a staged fight, knocked down wrestler Stuart Smith (also known as Syko Stu) and continued to hit him even after he appeared to have lost consciousness.\n\nIn a live broadcast prior to the event, Jackson declared his intention to take revenge on Smith, due to a brief altercation between the two that occurred that same day. Smith had hit Jackson with a can of beer as part of an apparent promotion of the event.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Smith suffered multiple jaw injuries, as well as a serious head injury, a lip laceration and tooth loss.<\/p><cite>Statement by Stuart Smith<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nJackson was arrested in September in connection with the assault. His father, known for his career in the UFC and Pride Fighting Championships, has condemned his son&#8217;s actions in multiple interviews and on social media.\n\nJackson could face up to four years in state prison for the felony charge.
