San Jose Sharks Begin Season Without Captain<\/h2>\n\nSAN JOS\u00c9, California \u2013 The San Jose Sharks will head into the upcoming NHL season without a designated captain. Instead, the team opted for a rotation of five players who will wear the “A” as alternate captains.\n\nCoach Ryan Warsofsky announced on Wednesday that forward Tyler Toffoli will be wearing the “A” in all games. In addition, Macklin Celebrini and Barclay Goodrow will alternate as alternate captains in home games, while Mario Ferraro and Alexander Wennberg will do so in away games.\n\n\n

Each of the players who will be part of our leadership group for the 2025-26 season brings an important skill and character to the locker room. These individuals embody what it means to be a Shark, and the identity we want to have as a team.
