Despite the paramedics&#8217; efforts, he died at the scene.\n\nMokhtarian competed in the UFC in 2018 and 2019, before turning to coaching. He played a key role in the development of several MMA talents at the Australian Top Team, alongside his brother Ashkan Mokhtarian.\n\nThe police have established a crime scene and have initiated an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the shooting.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;A man has died in a shooting in a public place in western Sydney today,&#8221; New South Wales Police stated. &#8220;Around 6 p.m. today, emergency services were alerted to Annaluke Street, Riverstone, following reports of shots fired.&#8221;<\/p><cite>New South Wales Police Statement<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nShortly after the incident, emergency services were called to Riverstone Road, near Clark Street, due to a vehicle fire.
