After physiotherapy, tests revealed damage to the nerves in the brain and spinal cord due to ALS. Other former rugby players, such as Doddie Weir and Rob Burrow, have died from this disease in recent years.\n\nMoody expressed that, despite the diagnosis, he doesn’t feel sick, although he presents slight muscle atrophy in his hand and shoulder. He remains active and hopes this continues for as long as possible.\n\nIn his statements, Moody highlighted the importance of the rugby community and the support he has received.\n\nIn a social media post, Moody described the diagnosis as a “shock”, but thanked the support of his family and medical professionals, and expressed his gratitude to those who have contributed to research to help those living with this disease.\n\n
