Three races later, his opinion hasn&#8217;t changed.\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s still zero, guys. He highlighted Verstappen&#8217;s contributions in this process.\n\nThe change in performance has led McLaren to consider Verstappen a real threat in the fight for the drivers&#8217; title.\n\nVerstappen has praised Mekies for his work since he took over.\n\nMekies, with experience in engineering, has introduced a more sensible approach to the car&#8217;s setup, according to Verstappen.\n\n\u201cI think Laurent is probably being too nice in that sense,\u201d Verstappen said on Sunday night.\n\nVerstappen added that the team focus and the analysis of weaknesses have been key to the improvement in performance.
