St. Louis Blues forward Dylan Holloway underwent surgery for an unspecified injury and is expected to be ready to play at the start of the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The news was revealed during the end-of-season press conference of General Manager Doug Armstrong, who addressed various topics, including the status of Holloway and defenseman Torey Krug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Holloway, 23, suffered the injury on April 3 in the 5-4 overtime victory against the Penguins, after a hit by Rutger McGroarty. The player missed the seven playoff games and the last five of the regular season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Holloway, selected 14th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Oilers, signed with the Blues to a two-year, $4.58 million contract before the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 77 games with the Blues, Holloway was second on the team in goals with 26 and added 37 assists, finishing third in points with 63.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation of veteran defenseman Torey Krug is not so positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Krug, 34, missed the entire 2024-25 season after undergoing surgery in September to address pre-arthritic changes in his left ankle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don’t think there’s a lot of uncertainty with Torey. I talked to him, he was on the ice the other day. He’s just getting back to normal life with his ankle. I don’t expect him to play again. He hopes I’m wrong and I hope I’m wrong, and he’s working hard. But the surgery he had was very, very invasive.<\/p>Doug Armstrong<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Krug accumulated 483 points (89 goals, 394 assists) in 778 regular season games. He was selected to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 82 playoff games, he scored 57 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
