I am beyond excited to join the Denver NWSL ownership group and support something so meaningful in the community I call home.<\/p>Mikaela Shiffrin<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n Denver recently received an unnamed NWSL franchise for an expansion fee of $110 million.<\/p>\n\n Mikaela’s commitment to excellence, her global impact, and her deep roots in Colorado make her a perfect addition to our ownership group. We are building a club with purpose, and having Mikaela’s vision and voice on that journey will be invaluable.<\/p>Rob Cohen, Majority Owner of the Team<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n The team is expected to start playing in 2026, joining Boston Legacy FC to bring the NWSL to 16 teams.<\/p>\n\n Cohen and the Denver ownership group plan to build a 12,000-seat temporary stadium and training facility southeast of the city, while funding the construction of a 14,500-seat permanent stadium in Denver, which is expected to open in 2028.<\/p>\n\n This would be only the second stadium built specifically for an NWSL team.<\/p>\n\n The sports culture in Colorado is rich and deep, and, most notably, the growth of women’s sports is one of the most exciting movements in our current culture.
