The Tigres del Licey received a significant boost in their preseason camp with the arrival of three important figures: imported catcher Christian Bethancourt, pitcher Cameron Gann, and utility player Armando \u00c1lvarez. The team is training at the facilities of the International Prospect League, located in the municipality of Guerra.<\/p>\n
Bethancourt, a 34-year-old Panamanian catcher, brings valuable experience to the team. Standing six feet three inches tall and weighing 200 pounds, the player has eight seasons in the Major Leagues, where he has defended the colors of the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, Miami Marlins, Toronto Blue Jays, and Tampa Bay Rays. Bethancourt participated in the playoffs with the Rays in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.<\/p>\n
Pitcher Cameron Gann, 32, also joins Licey. His performance in the Dominican winter league has been notable, with 44 innings pitched, a WHIP of 1.25, 35 strikeouts, and 21 walks between the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. Gann has excelled in the playoffs, where his ERA is 1.62, allowing only five runs in 27 and two-thirds innings, with 25 strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The team already had the presence of pitchers C\u00e9sar Valdez, Paolo Espino, Radham\u00e9s Liz, Jorge L\u00f3pez, Albert Abreu, Jairo Asencio, Ulises Joaqu\u00edn, Dany Jim\u00e9nez, Adonis Medina, Ovis Portes, Elison Joseph and Reidis Sena.<\/p>\n
Also integrated were catchers Maxwell Romero and Jommer Hernandez, infielders Gustavo Nu\u00f1ez, Domingo Leyba, Michael De Le\u00f3n, and outfielders Luis B\u00e1ez and Luis Barrera.<\/p>\n
In addition, first and second-year players Manolfi Jim\u00e9nez, Yophery Rodr\u00edguez, Luis Beltr\u00e1n, Yerald Nin, Elis Cuevas and \u00c1ngel Ortiz were present.<\/p>\n
The technical staff of Licey, led by its manager, is composed of a group of experienced coaches: H\u00e9ctor Borg, Jos\u00e9 Umbr\u00eda, Anderson Hern\u00e1ndez, Carlos Lugo, Manny Aybar, Fidel Pe\u00f1a, and C\u00e9sar Cabral.<\/p>\n
