During the conversation, the possibility of a role for Bochy within the organization was suggested, although not in the manager position.\n\n

I don’t see us going that route with Boch.<\/p>Buster Posey, Giants’ President of Baseball Operations<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nThe decision to fire Bob Melvin was made on Monday, after his second season concluded with an 81-81 record, one more win than the previous year, and a fourth consecutive missed opportunity to qualify for the playoffs.\n\nThat same Monday, the Texas Rangers announced the departure of Bochy, 70 years old, after three seasons that culminated in the organization’s first World Series championship in 2023.\n\nPosey expressed his hope of finding someone who can provide long-term stability in the manager position, as the club tries to become a regular contender again. However, he did not provide details about the process, except that interviews are taking place this week. Under Bochy’s direction, the Giants won World Series championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014.\n\n
