Buster Posey Dismisses Bruce Bochy for Giants’ Management<\/h2>\n\nSAN FRANCISCO \u2013 Buster Posey, Giants executive, has ruled out Bruce Bochy, his former manager, as a candidate to once again fill the vacant managerial position in San Francisco.\n\nPosey, who currently serves as the club’s president of baseball operations, revealed that he spoke with Bochy a few days ago. During the conversation, the possibility of a role for Bochy within the organization was mentioned, although not in the manager position.\n\n\n

The door is always open here for some kind of role. I don’t see us going that route with Boch.<\/p>Buster Posey<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe decision to seek a new manager comes after the firing of Bob Melvin on Monday, after his second season concluded with an 81-81 record. The team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive time.\n\nSubsequently, the Texas Rangers announced the departure of Bochy, 70, after three seasons that culminated in the organization’s first World Series championship in 2023.\n\nPosey expressed his desire to find someone who can provide long-term stability in the manager position, as the club seeks to become a regular contender again. Posey did not provide details about the process, but indicated that interviews are taking place this week. Under Bochy’s direction, the Giants achieved World Series championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014.\n\n\n
