Anthony Edwards Seeks Advice From Michael Jordan to Elevate His Game<\/h2>\n\nAfter being eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards sought guidance from a legend to improve his game: Michael Jordan.\n\nThrough a mutual connection, Edwards revealed that Jordan offered him valuable advice. The best suggestion he gave me is that most people lean on others with their rear end, and he does it with the upper part of his back.<\/p>\nAnthony Edwards<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nLast season, Edwards struggled from the three-point line in the five games against the Thunder. For this season, Edwards is focusing on improving his performance in crucial moments and attacking the basket more often.\n\nIn addition to his individual performance, Edwards highlights the chemistry that the team has developed, especially with Julius Randle. They have played one-on-one during the offseason, learning to balance their space on the court to help each other.\n\nThe team’s cohesion has been a key focus for the Timberwolves, who are keeping seven of their eight top scorers from the previous season. Edwards emphasizes the importance of supporting each other and strengthening the bond before the playoffs.\n\n\n

I think winning starts with being together and it starts in the summer. We have to be together. We have to be a team. We can’t wait until the All-Star break to try to become a team. We have to do it now.<\/p>\nAnthony Edwards<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nCoach Chris Finch believes Edwards can become one of the best players in the league if he continues to improve. Finch highlights Edwards’ dedication to video study and physical conditioning. These qualities could make the player an MVP contender.\n\n\n

I think [he has to] develop his game and understand how to manipulate the court with the ball in his hands. I think he has a very good eye for that now, after having gone through this for a couple of years. He just has to execute and complete the plays in front of him and then continue to be that high-level player every night that we know he can be, which is what you have to do if you want to be MVP in this league. And I certainly think he has the DNA for it and just has to fully embrace it.<\/p>\nChris Finch<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nEdwards acknowledges that, to be considered for the MVP, his team must win more games and he must average a lot of points. However, his main focus is the team’s success. Although the Thunder could be a rival in the playoffs, Edwards points out that teams like the Denver Nuggets, who have been reinforced with key players, also represent a threat.\n\n\n

I don’t think it’s just the Thunder. I think there are a lot of teams that got better this summer. I think the Nuggets are going to be really good. Give Nikola Jokic a couple of shooters, you know? It’s going to be hard to beat, so I think we have to focus on something more than just the Thunder.<\/p>\nAnthony Edwards<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nIf Edwards needs more advice, having the guidance of one of the best players in NBA history will be beneficial. However, his relationship with Jordan is still in its early stages.\n\n\n
