Lewis Hamilton mourns the loss of his faithful companion Roscoe<\/h2>\n\nThe world of motorsports is in mourning following Lewis Hamilton’s announcement of the passing of his bulldog, Roscoe, at the age of 12. The news, shared by the British driver, has touched fans and colleagues.\n\nHamilton, 40, was absent from a Formula 1 tire test on Friday because Roscoe contracted pneumonia.\n\nThrough the X platform, Hamilton expressed his pain: “I lost my best friend last night. Thank you all for the love you have shown him over the years. Roscoe forever.”\n\nIn an Instagram statement, Hamilton shared details of the farewell: “After four days on life support, fighting with every ounce of strength he had, I had to make the most difficult decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe.”\n\nThe pilot continued: “He never stopped fighting, until the end. I feel very grateful and honored to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and a true friend.”\n\n“Bringing Roscoe into my life was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I will always cherish the memories we created together.”\n\n\n

Although I lost Coco, I had never faced putting a dog to sleep before. It’s one of the most painful experiences and I feel a deep connection with everyone who has gone through the loss of a beloved pet.<\/p>Lewis Hamilton<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n“Even though it was so difficult, having it was one of the most beautiful parts of life: to love so deeply and to be loved in return.”\n\nThe pilot thanked for the support: “Thank you all for the love and support you have shown Roscoe over the years. It has been very special to witness and feel it.”\n\nHamilton revealed that Roscoe passed away on Sunday night, September 28th, in his arms.\n\nRoscoe, adopted by the seven-time world champion in 2013, became a regular figure in the F1 paddock and at major events.\n\nHamilton is expected to return to his Ferrari at this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
