Keegan Bradley Defends Bryson DeChambeau Against Ryder Cup Criticism<\/h2>\n\nThe captain of the United States team, Keegan Bradley, came out in defense of Bryson DeChambeau, who has been the subject of strong criticism ahead of this week’s Ryder Cup. Bradley believes that DeChambeau, the only American player who does not belong to the PGA Tour, will be an X-factor for the Americans, not only for his game, but also for the energy he will bring to the local fans at Bethpage Black.\n\n\n

He’s a very energetic player. In the Ryder Cup, you don’t want players trying to be something they’re not. We have a lot of quiet, relaxed guys, so we need Bryson’s energy.<\/p>Keegan Bradley<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nBradley’s comments come after Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee criticized DeChambeau, calling him a “nightmare for the captain” and accusing him of generating “self-interest” by promoting his YouTube channel instead of talking about the Ryder Cup.\n\nEuropean star Rory McIlroy also recently threw a jab at DeChambeau, saying that “the only way he gets attention is by mentioning other people.” DeChambeau, when asked about the possibility of facing McIlroy in the Ryder Cup, responded that he intended to “whisper in McIlroy’s ear” at Bethpage. McIlroy responded to these comments during an interview.\n\nWhen asked if DeChambeau had a response to McIlroy’s comments, he tried to take the most diplomatic route.\n\n\n

It will be the first time he plays in a Ryder Cup as a LIV Golf member.\n\nDeChambeau’s American teammates have praised his commitment to the team this week, highlighting his efforts despite not playing on the PGA Tour.\n\n\n
