Her recent victory against a high-level rival has boosted her position in the division’s ranking.\n\nSeven months ago, Suarez arrived undefeated to her title fight against Zhang Weili. Although Zhang Weili managed to defend her title before moving up to the flyweight division, where she will face Valentina Shevchenko on November 15, the 115-pound title was vacated.\n\nWaiting for Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern to compete for the vacant position on October 25th, the winner will need a challenger. Tatiana Suarez could be that contender.\n\nIn Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event, Suarez proved her worth by defeating Amanda Lemos, who was one spot above her in the strawweight rankings. Thanks to this victory, Suarez (11-1) surpassed Lemos, now ranking fourth.\n\nThe winner of Saturday’s main event, Diego Lopes, remains at number 3 in featherweight, as the ranked fighter just above him, Movsar Evloev, previously defeated him.\n\nThree other changes were made to the rankings, all due to the eligibility requirement that fighters compete in the last year or have a scheduled fight. Dan Hooker (lightweight), Arnold Allen (featherweight), and Norma Dumont (women’s bantamweight) fell out of the rankings due to inactivity.\n\nHere are the pound-for-pound MMA rankings from Alofoke Deportes and a list of the current UFC champions in all weight classes.\n\nThe results are updated; rankings as of September 16th. To be eligible for the ranking, a fighter must have competed in the last 12 months or have a scheduled fight. Fighters who have been removed for inactivity can only be reinstated after competing.\n\n\n
