SANTA CLARA, Calif. \u2013 Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner was carted off the field in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, which ended in a 16-15 loss.<\/p>\n
Conner suffered an injury to his right ankle, which forced the trainers to attend to him quickly after a 9-yard run with 12:26 remaining in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
The players from both teams knelt as they attended to Conner. The entire Cardinals bench entered the field to see Conner as he was being put on the stretcher.<\/p>\n
Before his injury, Conner, 30, had managed nine carries for 22 yards. This was his longest run since Week 1.<\/p>\n
The player is coming off two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, the first of his career. In November 2024, he signed a two-year extension that would keep him in Arizona through the 2026 season.
