Tampa, Fla. – Mike Evans, star wide receiver for the Buccaneers, suffered a hamstring injury during the game against the New York Jets last Sunday, being ruled out for the rest of the game.<\/p>\n
Evans, who leads the franchise in all-time scoring, was injured in the final quarter and limped off the bench, visibly frustrated.<\/p>\n
The receiver, known for his previous hamstring problems, missed three games last year and another three in 2019 due to similar injuries.<\/p>\n
Mike Evans is the only player in league history to record 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first 11 seasons. In addition, he ties with Jerry Rice, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, for the most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons (a record he could break this year).<\/p>\n
The Buccaneers are also without Chris Godwin, Pro Bowl wide receiver, who is recovering from ankle surgery, and Jalen McMillan, who suffered a neck injury in the second preseason game and is not expected to return until after the team’s bye week.<\/p>\n
