Minnesota Lynx guard DiJonai Carrington will miss the remainder of the season after a significant foot injury was confirmed, the team announced on Saturday.<\/p>\n
An MRI confirmed the sprain after Carrington was initially ruled out for Game 1 of the WNBA semi-final series against the Phoenix Mercury, scheduled for Sunday.<\/p>\n
Carrington appeared to injure her foot at the end of Game 2 of the first-round series against the Golden State Valkyries. She was seen wearing a walking boot and walking with crutches on Friday at the press conference of her teammate Alanna Smith, who received the Defensive Player of the Year award.<\/p>\n
Without Carrington, Minnesota’s bench loses a key player on both ends of the court. In the two games of the first-round series against the Valkyries, she provided the team with an offensive boost, scoring six points in Game 1 and 11 in Game 2. Carrington, selected for the first defensive team in 2024, also defended Golden State’s best guard on the court.<\/p>\n
