Villars, 28, becomes the first woman and the youngest person to run for the position.\n\nThe December election will pit Villars against current president Mohammed Ben Sulayem and American motorsports official Tim Meyer. The news of Villars&#8217; candidacy took many by surprise, as his intention to run had not been publicly anticipated.\n\nVillars, who was not widely known in the world of motorsport before this announcement, has expressed her confidence in her candidacy. &#8220;I have everything prepared, the whole program, the whole team, which makes me very confident for this presidency,&#8221; Villars declared.\n\nVillars has not yet submitted the necessary documentation to detail his team, but has until October 24 to do so.\n\nThe candidate hopes that her youth will bring a different perspective to that of Ben Sulayem, 63, and Meyer, 59. It also seeks to eliminate the barriers faced by young drivers, both men and women, when starting their careers.\n\nThe FIA presidency is decided by a vote of the member clubs, which represent the national motorsport organizations from around the world. The elections resemble political campaigns, where candidates seek support before the vote.\n\nVillars claims to have the support of clubs from all over the world, as well as an experienced team.
