Blashill seeks to establish a culture of work and performance from the beginning.\n\nThis is Blashill&#8217;s second chance to prove his ability as a head coach in the NHL. Previously, he had a record of 204-261-72 in seven seasons with the Detroit Red Wings.\n\nBlashill worked as an assistant in Tampa Bay before taking on this new challenge. The coach will rely on his experience to guide the young Blackhawks. Blashill seeks to instill correct habits from the start.\n\nThe training camp began without veteran goaltender Laurent Brossoit, who is recovering from hip surgery.
