The incident occurred on Wednesday when he was hit by a batted ball.\n\nSoriano, who spoke through an interpreter, expressed that he feels &#8220;a little better than yesterday&#8221;, but added that &#8220;I&#8217;m still struggling&#8221;. The right-handed pitcher had to leave the game after being hit by a batted ball from Milwaukee&#8217;s Jake Bauers.\n\nTo fill Soriano&#8217;s spot on the roster, Los Angeles called up left-handed pitcher Sam Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>How I feel now, I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s any reason to force anything.<\/p><cite>Jos\u00e9 Soriano<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nSoriano, who will turn 27 on October 20, had a 10-11 season with an ERA of 4.26 in 31 starts. In 169 innings, he struck out 152 batters.\n\nThe Angels&#8217; interim manager, Ray Montgomery, congratulated Soriano on his progress during the season.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I told him: &#8216;Now you know what it&#8217;s like to make 31 starts in the Major Leagues, give us more than 160 innings.&#8217; Next year that number will have a &#8216;2&#8217; in front of it. So many positives.<\/p><cite>Ray Montgomery<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nMontgomery added that the most important thing for Soriano is that both the areas for improvement and the successes he has had have been identified.
