Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is facing possible surgery due to a toe injury, according to sources close to him.<\/p>\n
Images of the injury to Burrow’s left finger, sustained during the second quarter of the home victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, are being reviewed by renowned foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson.<\/p>\n
If surgery is necessary, it is anticipated that Burrow would be out of action for approximately three months.<\/p>\n
The injury occurred with 8:36 left in the second quarter, during a capture made by Jaguars defensive end Arik Armstead. Burrow was trapped under other players.<\/p>\n
Initially, Burrow attempted to leave the field limping, but collapsed on the grass after a few steps. After a prolonged evaluation in the medical tent, he tried to return to the locker room, but needed assistance from the athletic trainers to complete the journey.<\/p>\n
Burrow was initially listed as questionable to return, before being definitively ruled out. He did not return to the field and was seen with a walking boot and crutches after the game.<\/p>\n
Coach Zac Taylor offered no further information on the quarterback’s status.<\/p>\n
