During his career, he played for several teams, including the New Jersey Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards and again the Nets, now in Brooklyn.\n\nIn 2013, Collins publicly revealed his homosexuality, marking a milestone as the first openly gay athlete in North American major sports leagues.\n\nDescription of the Nets&#8217; social media post: We send our love and support to @jasoncollins98 and his family.\n\nThroughout his career, Collins averaged 3.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
