The decision was made by the UEFA Executive Committee during its meeting in Tirana.\n\nThis will be the second time the red-and-white stadium hosts the final of the most prestigious competition in Europe, after the 2018-2019 edition, where Liverpool was crowned champion by defeating Tottenham.\n\nOpened on September 16, 2017, the Metropolitano is one of the eleven Spanish stadiums shortlisted to host matches of the 2030 World Cup, up to the semi-finals. The stadium has a capacity for 70,692 spectators, with 96% of the seats covered.\n\nThe venue has 1,000 parking spaces inside the building and an additional 3,000 outside. In addition, the club has established two Fan Zones, one next to the South End and another next to the North End.\n\nThe Champions League final of the 2025-2026 season will be played at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on May 30, 2026. The final at the Metropolitano will be the sixth to be played in the Spanish capital, adding to the four previous ones held at the Santiago Bernab\u00e9u.\n\nHistorically, the Madrid stadium has witnessed great moments in the competition.
