The Toronto Blue Jays have suffered a setback. Their star shortstop, Bo Bichette, was placed on the 10-day injured list this Tuesday due to a sprained left knee.<\/p>\n
Bichette’s injury occurred during Saturday’s game against the New York Yankees, following a collision at the plate. The move to the injured list is retroactive to Sunday.<\/p>\n
As a result, the Canadian organization was forced to make an adjustment to its roster. Outfielder Joey Loperfido was called up from the Triple-A Buffalo affiliate to take Bichette’s place.<\/p>\n
Despite the collision, Bichette was able to continue playing after the game resumed, although the Blue Jays lost 3-1 at Yankee Stadium. However, the player did not participate in Sunday’s game and medical tests confirmed the injury.<\/p>\n
