Golden State Valkyries Make History in Their Inaugural Season<\/h2>\n\nThe Golden State Valkyries have made history in the WNBA, becoming the first expansion team to reach the playoffs in their debut season. This achievement was realized after defeating the Dallas Wings with a score of 84-80 at the Chase Center.\n\n\n

“A lot of people didn’t believe in us, and that fires us up,” Janelle Salaun stated. “It’s a good thing. It’s better to start as the underdog and prove everyone wrong. I know the girls on this team have always been in this position. It’s something we’re used to, and we did it as a group.”<\/p>\nJanelle Salaun<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe game was full of emotions, with Veronica Burton facing Paige Bueckers in the final seconds. Burton, with a bold play, managed to score a crucial shot that practically secured the victory for the Valkyries.\n\n\n

“I went blank,” Burton said, laughing. “I was just trying to score when it mattered. I wasn’t looking for the foul, I just wanted to finish. It was a big help having everyone instilling confidence in me.<\/p>\nVeronica Burton<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nBurton finished the match with 15 points and five assists. Salaun led the team with 19 points, while Carla Leite contributed 15 points with outstanding efficiency.\n\n\n

After the final whistle, the players celebrated on the court, wearing commemorative shirts. The euphoric fans remained in the stands celebrating. In the locker room, the joy continued with the traditional water bath.<\/p>\n\n\nThe Valkyries coach, Natalie Nakase, watched the celebration, knowing that the work is not finished. With three games remaining in the regular season, including two against the Minnesota Lynx, the priority is to secure a good position for the playoffs.\n\n\n

We’re not done yet. After the season, I’ll reflect… I have to be present. I have to keep my feet on the ground… and I think that’s why we’ve been able to do what we do, because we stay present.
