Warrick, seeing Anthony on the court at Manley Field House in the summer of 2002, wasn’t entirely convinced.\n\n\n

Anthony, with his talent and versatility, quickly stood out, scoring 27 points in his college debut against Memphis at Madison Square Garden. His only season at Syracuse was an unprecedented success, leading the team to a 30-5 record and winning the NCAA championship in 2003.\n\nSyracuse coach Jim Boeheim highlighted Anthony’s importance to the team, mentioning his ability to win games. “Carmelo won, that’s the most important thing. He was a great player and he won,” Boeheim stated.\n\nAlthough he didn’t win championships in his 19 seasons in the NBA, Anthony has avoided being defined solely by rings.
