This was caused by &#8220;accidental contamination with pregnenolone, a legal and non-prohibited substance.&#8221; As a result, Munguia will not face sanctions and his victory over Surace remains intact.\n\nMunguia (45-2, 35 KOs) was initially flagged by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) weeks after his points victory over Surace, in a rematch after being stopped in December.\n\nThe Mexican boxer proclaimed his innocence on social media, promising to clear his name.\n\nFollowing the initial result, Munguia&#8217;s team requested the analysis of sample B, which also tested positive. However, after a thorough review, Munguia was exonerated.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>&#8220;I want to thank the WBC for reviewing the complete scientific evidence and confirming that there will be no investigation, charge or sanction,&#8221; Munguia stated on Tuesday. &#8220;We have been notified by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) that they designated UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) as the body responsible for anti-doping regulation, testing, investigation and results management, and after their review of the complete record, they reached the same conclusion.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<cite>Jaime Munguia<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nMunguia added:\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t cheat, science proves it, and I am grateful to the CMB, BBBofC and UKAD for recognizing this truth&#8230; I am ready to leave this behind and move forward with my career.
