McLaren driver Lando Norris has made it clear that he does not expect his teammate, Oscar Piastri, to suffer setbacks in order to have options in the Formula 1 championship. Norris acknowledges that McLaren’s dominant position complicates his aspirations, but prefers to focus on his own performance.<\/p>\n\n\nNorris’ hopes of securing his first F1 title suffered a major blow at the Dutch Grand Prix, when his car stopped, leaving Piastri in an advantageous position.\n\nPiastri now leads with a 34-point advantage, a difference that only two drivers have failed to maintain to win the championship under the current points system, with nine races remaining.\n\n\n
