The expectation was to compete for victories. It definitely took longer than I expected, but tonight I feel like we showed what we are capable of.<\/p>Chase Briscoe<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nBriscoe led from the start, winning both stages and dominating 309 of the 367 laps. In addition to advancing to the next round, he became the first driver with consecutive wins in this race since Greg Biffle in 2005 and 2006.\n\n\n

It’s great to win two Southern 500s in a row. This is my favorite race of the year.<\/p>Chase Briscoe<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nA year ago, Briscoe secured his playoff spot with a bold move in the final laps. This time, his performance was consistent throughout the race.\n\n

I definitely feel like I’m doing my part.<\/p>Chase Briscoe<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nReddick attempted an attack on the last lap, but Briscoe held the position to secure his second win of the season and the fourth of his career.\n\n

It was much harder than it should have been.<\/p>Chase Briscoe<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nThe owner of the Briscoe team, Joe Gibbs, recalled last year’s welcome and highlighted the team’s rapid adaptation under the direction of team principal James Smalls.\n\nErik Jones, a two-time Southern 500 winner, finished third, followed by John Hunter Nemechek and AJ Allmendinger. Playoff drivers Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin, Briscoe’s teammate, rounded out the top spots.\n\n\n

Playoff Problems<\/h2>\n\n\nThe night was not favorable for several playoff contenders, as some experienced difficulties. Only four playoff drivers managed to finish in the top 10.\n\nJosh Berry spun early in the race and had to enter the garage. Alex Bowman had problems with his car, while Ryan Blaney also had difficulties, including a spin on lap 209.\n\nThe four drivers below the cut line are defending champion Joey Logano, followed by Austin Dillon, Bowman, and Berry.\n\n

Toyota Ownership<\/h2>\n\n\nThe top four places were taken by Toyota drivers, marking the third time this has happened since the manufacturer joined the Cup Series in 2007. Overall, six of the top seven were Toyota drivers.\n\nHamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing, highlighted the good performance of his drivers Reddick and Wallace, as well as the overall success of Toyota.\n\n
