An MRI confirmed the severity of the injury.\n\nManager Alex Cora indicated that, generally, players with this type of oblique issue are out of action for between four and six weeks.\n\nBefore Wednesday&#8217;s game, Boston was 2.5 games behind Toronto, leader of the American League East.
