Manager Craig Counsell has decided to give him a “physical and mental” break due to his struggles in the second half of the season.\n\nCrow-Armstrong, 23, was not in the starting lineup against the Braves on Wednesday, after coming off the bench to play defense at the end of Tuesday’s game. The Cubs will have a day off on Thursday, which will give Crow-Armstrong three full days between his appearances.\n\n\n

We are giving him a real break. His performance has been even more complicated in the last month, registering .163 with only five extra-base hits and five walks against 29 strikeouts since August 1st.\n\n\n

I looked at this at the beginning of the recent road trip, wondering where we could give Pete a break.
