It&#8217;s not my weekend. It&#8217;s frustrating and it hurts a bit, especially in terms of the championship. It&#8217;s a lot of points lost so quickly and easily.<\/p><cite>Lando Norris<\/cite>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a.espncdn.com\/combiner\/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2025%2F0831%2Fr1539187_1296x729_16%2D9.jpg\" alt=\"Lando Norris es 34 puntos detr\u00e1s de su compa\u00f1ero de equipo Oscar Piastri en el campeonato de pilotos.\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\nNorris praised his teammate, but acknowledges that it will be difficult to close the gap in the championship.\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The only thing I can do is try to win every race. It will be difficult, but I will make sure to give it my all.<\/p><cite>Lando Norris<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nNorris lost second position to Max Verstappen on the first lap, but managed to regain it on lap 9. However, he couldn&#8217;t threaten Piastri in any of the restarts after the safety car.\n\nMcLaren seemed on track to achieve a historic fifth consecutive one-two finish before an unusual reliability issue.\n\nRegarding the engine issue, Norris commented:\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I don&#8217;t know what the problem was. The engine just switched off and that was it.
