The event, which is being celebrated with great success in New York City, is supported by the Dominican Ministry of Sports, led by Kelvin Cruz.\n\nThe exciting encounter, which took place in a Manhattan park with a massive attendance, was dominated by right-handed pitcher Alfonso P\u00e9rez, who completed the six innings of the game, allowing only two hits and striking out four rivals. His performance was key to securing his team&#8217;s triumph.\n\nThe Villa Gonz\u00e1lez League opened the scoring in the third inning thanks to a solo home run by Jalfani Cruz, who hit the ball against Nelson Garc\u00eda&#8217;s pitches. Two innings later, Jorge Trinidad hit a double that extended the lead and sealed the victory for the team managed by F\u00e9lix Soriano.\n\nThe Juan Pablo Duarte Games, inaugurated on August 15 by Minister Kelvin Cruz, are promoted by the Government and President Luis Abinader, who has shown his support for the Dominican community in the United States. In this edition, more than 2,300 athletes compete in 24 sports disciplines and recreational activities.\n\nRoberto Rojas, general director of the Organizing Committee, and Evaristo Madrigal, president of the Dominican Sports Union in New York, extended their congratulations to all participating teams, highlighting the performance of the champions.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Polanco Academy Shines in Basketball with Two Gold Medals<\/h2>\n\n\nWithin the framework of the Juan Pablo Duarte Games 2025, the Polanco Academy, representing New Jersey, shone in basketball by obtaining two gold medals. These achievements highlight the talent and dedication of the young athletes participating in this large-scale sporting event.\n\nThe Polanco Academy prevailed in the 14-15 and 18-19 age categories, demonstrating their superiority on the court. In the 14-15 age category, the team defeated Manhattan with a score of 32-25, thanks to the outstanding performances of Rumarlin Gonzalo, Frank Valdez, and Adri\u00e1n Ram\u00edrez.\n\nIn the 18-19 age division, Academia Polanco achieved a narrow victory over Manhattan with a score of 64-62, led by Darling Est\u00e9vez, who scored 20 points.
