Lando Norris Dismisses Momentum in Title Fight<\/h2>\n\nLando Norris, McLaren driver, has downplayed the idea that momentum is on his side as he prepares to resume his intense title battle with teammate Oscar Piastri.\n\nNorris is nine points behind Piastri, with ten races remaining in the Formula 1 season, which returns to action this weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix after the summer break.\n\nThe British driver won the last race in Hungary, overcoming the strategy before fending off a late attack from Piastri to achieve his fifth victory of the season, and the third in the last four races.\n\nHowever, the 25-year-old is not a big believer in momentum and prefers to focus on each race as he seeks his first world title.\n\n\n

I tend to say I don’t believe in it and I don’t really say I have it. I find it quite easy to set up races one at a time.<\/p>Lando Norris<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nNorris went on to explain that a good career can give more confidence and knowledge, but the “momentum” can have a deeper meaning.\n\nAccording to Norris, momentum could influence confidence, knowledge, and mindset, but it doesn’t guarantee continued success. He stated he felt good and prepared for the challenging second half of the season, focusing on each race in the pursuit of the championship.\n\nNorris has been critical of himself on several occasions during the season, especially when Piastri built a lead in the championship by winning four of the first six races.\n\nThe Bristol driver called himself an “idiot” after crashing in qualifying in Saudi Arabia and also collided with Piastri in Canada, being out of the race.\n\nAlthough Norris admits he would like to change certain moments of the season, he insists that he prefers not to have regrets.\n\nNorris reflected on the decisions made, mentioning an error in the classification of China that cost him important points and an incident in Canada.
