He can barely walk with the boot on,\u201d manager Bruce Bochy said.\n\nEzequiel Duran started at second base on Friday, while the Rangers called up Michael Hellman from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Carter on the active roster.\n\nBefore the injury, Semien had only missed six of the Rangers’ 615 games since joining the team before the 2022 season on a seven-year, $175 million contract.\n\nThis is the third time Carter has been placed on the injured list this season, a setback for the young outfielder, who had a spectacular debut at the end of the 2023 season, contributing to the Rangers winning their first World Series title.\n\n

“We are disappointed for him and for us. He was playing very well. He was doing very good things,” added Bochy.<\/p>Bruce Bochy<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nCarter had already been out of action due to a strain in his right quadriceps and back spasms on two previous occasions this season.\n\nIn 63 games this season, Carter hit .247 with five home runs, 25 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases.\n\nHis Major League debut was on September 23, 2023, where he batted .306 with five home runs and 12 RBIs in 23 games to finish the season.\n\nThe left fielder reached base in all 17 Rangers postseason games, batting .300 with a record nine doubles in the MLB postseason.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
