Jimmie Ward, Texans Player, Faces Civil Lawsuit for Domestic Violence<\/h2>\n\nThe Houston Texans safety, Jimmie Ward, is now at the center of a civil lawsuit filed by the woman who alleges she was assaulted by him.\n\nThe lawsuit, filed in Harris County District Court (Texas), accuses Ward of multiple assaults, both sexual and physical, including incidents that occurred in the presence of his 3-year-old son. The plaintiff is seeking compensation in excess of $20 million.\n\nThe woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, is known for having represented several women in sexual assault cases against former Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.\n\nThe lawsuit also alleges emotional abuse, financial manipulation, drug use, and threats against the plaintiff’s life by Ward. It is reported that in the early hours of the morning of June 12, the day of Ward’s arrest, he slapped her, strangled her, threatened her, and forced her to perform oral sex.\n\nAccording to the complaint, the woman, taking advantage of an opportunity, escaped with her son and ran naked into the street, where she called 911.\n\nAdditionally, the lawsuit indicates that Ward has contacted the woman after his arrest, which represents a violation of his bail agreement. Earlier this month, Ward was arrested again for another violation, after testing positive for alcohol.\n\nFaced with the first arrest, Texans general manager Nick Caserio stated that the team would allow the legal process to run its course.\n\n\n
