Luis Figuereo Suero (87 kg) and Elvis Balbuena Bueno (97 kg) failed to advance in their respective categories.\n\nWith Carvajal&#8217;s medal, the country accumulates two silver medals and three bronze medals in the youth competition.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Athletics: Liranyi Alonzo shines in the qualifiers<\/h2>\n\n\nDominican sprinter Liranyi Alonzo impressed by achieving the best time in the 200-meter dash qualifiers, clocking a time of 23.33 seconds and securing her place in the final, scheduled for this Thursday at 6:10 p.m. (5:10 p.m. Dominican Republic time).\n\nAlonzo, who had already conquered the silver in the 100-meter dash, will seek to add another medal for the Dominican delegation.\n\nIn the same test, Laura Mart\u00ednez (Colombia, 23.61), Lanica Locker (Antigua and Barbuda, 23.64) and Alliah Baker (Jamaica, 24.23) also managed to qualify.\n\nIn the women&#8217;s 400-meter hurdles, Micheiry Brito Espinal finished in sixth place with a time of 1:00.79. In figures, both Andrea (200 pts.) and Paolo Pigozzi (3,310 pts.) were out of the final.<\/li><li>Weightlifting: Jhancelis Santana obtained sixth place in the 53 kg category (151 kg total).
