Juli Inkster close to history at the Portland Classic<\/h2>\n\nGolf legend Juli Inkster, 65, participated in the Standard Portland Classic seeking to refine her game before the U.S. Senior Women’s Open. Inkster, a Hall of Famer, was close to setting an LPGA record.\n\nInkster began the tournament with a round of 69 strokes, showing a great performance. She was on her way to becoming the oldest player in LPGA history to make the cut after 36 holes. However, consecutive bogeys in the last nine holes led her to a round of 74.\n\nFinally, Inkster finished with a total of 1 under par, 143 strokes, missing the cut by a single stroke.\n\nJoAnne Carner currently holds the record for the oldest player to make a cut on the LPGA, achieving it at the age of 64 in the 2004 Chick Fil-A Charity Championship.\n\n\n

“I love JoAnne Carner. This means I have a passion for the game. I love it. I am very happy to have played this week. When I signed up, I thought: ‘What are you doing?'”, Inkster commented.<\/p>\n\nJuli Inkster<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nInkster added that she really enjoyed playing with players like Hannah Green and Stacy Lewis, and that she loves to see the performance of young golfers. She also expressed her satisfaction with the current state of women’s golf.\n\nThis was the first time Inkster had competed in an LPGA event since 2022.\n\n\n
