The UFC confirmed this lightweight matchup on Thursday, scheduled to headline the UFC Fight Night event at the Farmasi Arena.<\/p>\n
This event represents the UFC’s first return to Rio de Janeiro since May 2024.<\/p>\n
Oliveira, with a record of 35-11, comes to this fight after a knockout loss in the first round against Ilia Topuria in June, during UFC 317.<\/p>\n
Despite the defeat, Oliveira did not hesitate to accept the opportunity to fight in front of his audience.<\/p>\n
Born in the Brazilian favelas, Oliveira hasn’t fought at home since March 2020. The event at that time was held behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last time Oliveira competed in front of a Brazilian crowd was in November 2019.<\/p>\n
Fiziev (13-4), for his part, will seek to get back on track in his career. Although he has shown great potential in the UFC, he recently suffered a streak of three losses, including two against former interim champion Justin Gaethje.<\/p>\n
