He tied Strawberry’s record by hitting a home run against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday and set the record in his 965th regular season game, 144 fewer than Strawberry.With the record broken, attention now turns to how long Alonso will stay in New York to increase his total.Alonso, a homegrown star, debuted in the Major Leagues with great success in 2019, hitting 53 home runs, setting a league rookie record and a franchise record in a single season.He has played in 372 consecutive games, another franchise record.
